Schedule Updated January 7, 2013 Active Adult classes are designed to get a great workout without the wear and tear on your joints and muscles. They are low impact workouts with simple choreography and drills. Classes are perfect for beginners, pregnant women, and seniors. Get ready to burn some calories and shape/tone your body!

Class Descriptions

AA Aerobics- a combination class with 20 minutes cardio using low impact floor or step aerobics, 20 minutes strength training with a focus and style for active adults, and 20 minutes of full body stretching. Begin Spin- A less intense spin class for beginners and active adults. It will introduce you to a cycle workout in a non-intimidating environment, that is great for cardiovascular health and muscle well-being. Basic Yoga- Designed to teach individuals the fundamentals of yoga while working at a moderate intensity. Rusty Joints- Don’t let the name fool you! This water workout offers strength training exercises in the therapy pool. Great for older adults and members rehabilitating injuries. Silver Sneakers- Move to the music as you increase muscular strength and flexibility. This multi-level, equipment-based class takes you through a variety of exercises using hand held weights, elastic tubing with handles, and a ball. This is the right work out regardless of your fitness level. Silver Sneakers Cardio Circuit- Combine fun with fitness to increase your cardio vascular and muscular endurance power with a standing circuit workout. Upperbody strength work with hand held weights, elastic tubing with handles and a SilverSneakers ball is alternated with non-impact aerobic choreography. A chair is offered for support, stretching and relaxtion exercises. Silver Sneakers MSROM- Have fun and move to the music through a variety of exercises designed to increase muscular strength, rang of movement and activities for daily living. Hand held weights, elastic tubing with handles and a Silver Sneakers ball are offered for resistance. A chair is used for seated and/or standing support. Yoga Stretch- A training class that improves muscle tone, flexibility, and body alignment. Set to uplifting music, this class uses yoga and pilates principles to increase indurance and reduce stress. Zumba Gold- This class has latin style dancing class that is great for all abilities. The music and choreography will give a unique workout that you will love. * classes taught in the dance room.
