Meet Tori!

Tori Meacham is the Group Fitness Director here at Sports Academy. She has been part of the SARC family for almost 25 years. Tori is from Smithfield and is a wife and mom to 3 amazing kids. She loves spending time being active with her family and friends. She enjoys traveling, hiking, dancing, and pretty much anything outdoors. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Growing up as a trained dancer, Tori has had a passion for fitness her whole life. She is certified in AFAA, Schwinn indoor Cycling and has had education in STOTT pilates reformer. She teaches everything from Step, Tonic, Sculpt, Reps, HIIT to Cycle, Barre, Pilates and JAM and HIGH. You name it, she loves to teach it. Tori has helped co-developed several new formats in the fitness industry, and has also been a presenter for IDEA world and SCW fitness conventions. She was a Freemotion Master trainer and specialized in Incline Fit, Rapid Fit and currently the Fusion CS.

She loves Group Fitness with all her heart. “ It’s pure joy getting to know all of our members and seeing them get excited about taking care of themselves, challenge themselves, and meeting their goals. I get to wake up to these people every morning. I just want to make sure they leave with a smile on their face. I truly believe exercise is not just for our bodies, but also our mind and spirit.”⠀⠀⠀⠀

Tori says she has “the best job in the world.” She has created new friendships throughout the community that she will always treasure. And loves to get to use her knowledge and share her experiences to help others meet their goals and feel good about themselves.

Meet Desi!

Desi is an athlete that wants to stay strong so that she can continue to do all the things she loves . Most of her athletic accomplishments have been done alongside other amazing women. (Marathons, triathlons, biathlons, century bike rides, and Lotoja) She has learned that working together to accomplish goals helps us all grow stronger mentally, emotionally, and physically. That is why she decided to become an instructor. Des wants to help women feel empowered so that they can go out and take on the world. She is AFAA certified, has her Yoga 200 RYT and is licensed to teach Barre. Des is also a certified Stott Pilates instructor (mat and reformer level 1&2) and has her certificate for injury and special populations in STOTT as well. She loves to make connections with others as we all strive to be our best selves.

Meet Jenn!

Jenn has enjoyed teaching group fitness at Sports Academy for many years. Over those years, she has taught many different formats of group fitness classes including both cardio and toning formats. She is a Stott Pilates certified instructor on both the mat and reformer. Jenn loves meeting new people through her classes as well as enjoys the friendships created and sharing her love of fitness! In her spare time, she loves to ski, read, and travel with her husband and 3 girls.

Meet Shauna!

Shauna Hillyard lives in Nibley with her husband, 2 dogs and 1 cat. She has 2 sons that are grown and have left the nest. Shauna has worked as a pharmacy technician for 35 years. She has always been active and enjoys running. But after several injuries from running and looking for alternatives, she discovered Yoga. Shauna fell in love with it and wanted to learn as much as she could. She wanted to help others discover yoga and it's benefits so she got her certification to teach. She absolutely loves teaching and helping people discover themselves through yoga. She is excited to share yoga with our members and be able to do what she loves.

Meet Jaynee!

Jaynee Day has been teaching group fitness classes at Sarc for 16yrs. She teaches a variety of classes that Include ; Pilates , Barre, Piyo, Reps, Pump, Body Blast, High Fitness and Spin. She is a wife and mother to four children and one grandchild! Being a grandma is even better than she imagined ❣️
She grew up on a farm in rural Utah and attributes that to her love for the outdoors.
Jaynee loves to be active and grew up playing sports and now spends her time watching her kids play.

Meet Ruth!

Ruth is a 200- hour Yoga instructor and has been teaching yoga for three years. She also teaches Spin and Pilates and loves all types of exercise.

She and her husband are parents to three boys and one fur baby. Her ideal vacation would be relaxing on a quiet beach with a good book (or three) and endless amounts of chocolate. She also enjoys running, swimming, biking, hiking, and four-wheeling in the mountains with her family.

Ruth is a lover of learning, reading, writing, psychology, and trying new things. Born and raised in Cache Valley, she attended USU and earned a Bachelor’s degree in Social Work. She is passionate about teaching and helping others improve their lives. Ruth loves the peace and mindfulness that Yoga brings into her life through breath and movement. She believes fitness and yoga to be powerful tools in improving mental health and well- being.

Meet Annie!

Annie grew up in Western New York and spent most of her youth dancing, and playing field hockey & lacrosse. She graduated from USU with BFA in Art Education and had a stint on the Women’s Lacrosse team. Since she began teaching at SARC in 2017, she has found fun ways to integrate her love for dance, music and sports in the classes she teaches.

She has certifications in AFAA, Schwinn Cycling, TRX, Barre Above and RYT 200 hour yoga training through Shanti Yoga Roots.

She is passionate about teaching beat based cycling and Yoga.  Her indoor cycling journey began in 2003 in a USU Spin class and she’s consistently practiced yoga since 2001. When she’s not teaching, you’ll find her trail running, watching the Buffalo Bills, meditating, eating chicken wings, hippie dancing at concerts or hiking & skiing with her family.

Meet Emma!

This is Emma, and she loves fitness! She teaches yoga, aerial yoga, active adults, water aerobics, strength classes , and dance aerobics. Emma grew up in California and has 4 children, 3 cats, 2 dogs, and 1 husband! Her hobbies are trying new things, eating chocolate, and exercising. Emma is so excited to be working at Sports Academy. She loves meeting new people, all the variety we provide in our classes, and our amazing instructors.

Meet Juliette!

This is Juliette Muir. She is married to her husband Aaron. She has a son, Alex & a daughter in law, Mackenzie. A daughter, Shaelea & a son in law Gage.

She teaches water classes, yoga, and just recently got certified in Schwinn to teach spin.

Meet Shelley!

Shelley Dawson is the director of the STOTT Pilates’ program at Sports Academy and Racquet Club in Logan, UT. She has over a decade of experience in teaching multiple group fitness formats. She has a background in fitness modeling as well as being the lead talent for a variety of workout products sold nationally. Shelley has presented at multiple national conventions where she loves sharing her passion for wellness and fitness. Shelley is an education creator and published writer. Shelley is a master instructor for AFAA and Yoga Assets. Certifications: AFAA-GFI, NASM-CPT, STOTT Pilates, Yoga Alliance E-RYT 200 and YACEP. Shelley has 5 kids ranging from 20-6! She will not be winning the teacher of the Year for homeschooling but feels accomplished that her kids are still alive and being fed!

Meet Jennifer!

This is Jennifer Jackson. She's new here to the Cache Valley. She moved from Oregon, the Eugene area, home of the Ducks! She's married to Steve, the love of her life for 30 years. They have 5 beautiful children which they raised on a farm with cows, chickens, goats, motorcycles, and a plumbing business. They left it all to be closer to grand babies! Family means so much to her. She also love baking sweets, decorating her home, and gardening.

She's been teaching classes since 2001. She's taught cardio pump, lift 2B fit, spin, bones & balance, fit rhythms, and silver sneakers. Now, she's currently teaching water and senior fit classes here at SARC.

She's so excited to be here at SARC!

There is a time in everyone's life when they need a swift kick, continuous encouragement, endless reps, and a friend! She has found all that and more here at SARC!!!

Meet Jo!

SARC has been Jo’s happy place for the last 18 years.
She loves teaching water and loves the patrons that come to the classes. Jo has taught water off and on over 50 years and had kept her life guard certification current for 40 years.
Water has always been a passion of Jo’s. She was raised by the ocean so it
came naturally. She enjoys swimming, surfing, diving, cliff jumping, snorkeling, scuba diving, boating, water skiing and
now especially kayaking.
Jo has been married for 51+ years. She has four children and 12 grandchildren. Her life is rich with a great family and totally awesome friends.

Meet Angela!

Meet Angela Anderson. Ang found her love for Yoga while looking for an enhancement to fitness. She discovered that Yoga offered a path to constant improvement in fitness and overall health, both physically and mentally, and became hooked. Ang earned her 200-Hour Yoga Teacher Certification through Yoga Assests. She then extended her education with a Certificate of Training in Yoga For Athletes, which is a perfect fit for Yoga at The Sports Academy. She loves sharing her knowledge and enthusiasm for ‘all that yoga has to offer’ with The Sports Academy members.

Meet Deb!

Deb’s favorite form of exercise is cardio dancing and she started teaching at SARC about 6 years ago with Zumba Kids. She is a retired elementary school teacher of 30 years. She is privileged to currently teach Zumba/cardio classes to people ranging in ages to kids to USU students to seniors. She also loves to teach senior water classes and strength and toning classes. Deb has three daughters. Her oldest is Maureen who is also an instructor at SARC. A couple of Deb’s mottos are, “If you rest, you rust,” and “You’re never too old, and it’s never too late!”

Meet Kristen!

Kristen’s been teaching group fitness for 30 years. She is an ACE certified group fitness instructor and personal trainer. Just recently, Kristen has started teaching active adult classes on land and in the water and is loving it! She has been with SARC for 18 years!

Meet Melanie!

Melanie Douglass has been shaking things up in the group fitness industry for 25 years. She's worked as an instructor, personal trainer, program director, international presenter, and TV contributor. She's a Registered Dietitian, published author, and has held certifications with AFAA, NASM, ACE, Spinning and AEA. Melanie created the TONIC fitness brand in 2010 (with the help of Leinani and Tori!) and traveled extensively to present TONIC workouts to instructors/classes around the world. She is constantly crafting new class ideas, new moves, and new music experiences for the group fitness space. She currently works as the VP of Business Development for Yes! Fitness Music and her husband's fitness app company, lolo. She's a diehard music aficionado, so you can always count on a fresh new mix in Melanie's class!

Meet Leinani!

Leinani Jenkins has 5 children that range from 13-4 years of age; They are the joy of her life. She loves being a wife, mother, and educator. She is originally from Washington state. Leinani has a Bachelors of Science degree from USU, an AA degree from Dixie State, an AFAA certified Group Fitness Instructor, Schwinn and High Fitness certified and completed Pound, Zumba and Strong certifications. She has worked in the fitness industry for 11 years. She currently teaches SWITCH, Cycling, Bar pump, Reps and HIGH FITNESS. Leinani has co-developed several new formats in the fitness industry including StepTonic, DanceTonic, SWITCH and created workouts for club and video. Her unique insights to music, choreography design and biomechanics help her to create innovative classes.

Meet Kendra!

Kendra Hyde, E-RYT 200 and RYT 500, enjoys teaching a variety of different yoga classes; from Restorative to Power. Yoga has been a part of her life for over 10 years and inspires her to live each moment more mindfully.

In her classes, she loves to combine creative sequencing, playfulness, and a dose of inspiration to help you deepen your practice. Kendra seeks to help others thrive in life by nurturing body, mind and soul with yoga. Her hope is that you step off the mat feeling refreshed, nourished and balanced.

Meet Deo!

Deo is originally from Argentina. Love brought her to Cache Valley when she was 23 years old to marry her husband. Fast forward many years and now they have 3 kids and many animals on their little farm. Deo and her kids love to rescue and foster anything with feathers, scales, fur and/or fangs.

Here at the SARC family, Deo teaches Zumba and Strong. She has been certified since 2010. For Deo, Zumba is her way of sharing her culture. “ In all latin countries, dancing is a huge part of our lives. We dance for every occasion. We have such a richness and variety of rhythms!! So in my classes, I love to take you around all Latin America and fall in love with our culture while you sweat! It’s NOT a “dancing” class... because there are no wrong moves! It’s a “come shake it all, forget your stress and enjoy the music “ type of class. I even added rhythms from around the world . And all levels of fitness are welcome! “

A few things you might not know about Deo ; She has a Masters degree in Physical Therapy from her country, but Has changed careers and has been a full time Real Estate agent for many years now. Deo is also a Black belt in Karate (in her golden days she was Argentine National Champion). Now she loves to use those combat skills in her Strong class.

Meet Tia!

Tia came to logan in 2010 to finish her education at USU where she graduated with her Bachelors in Human Movement Science (exercise science).


She has always been passionate in helping people move their bodies while focusing on fundamental movements that help to prevent injuries.
She found the amazing benefits of yoga in 2013 while obtaining her YTT in Chicago.


Yoga has helped her through many emotional and physically painful trials in her life- applying the part of yoga that exercises the mind & spirit. She is excited to continue teaching classes here at SARC & helping others learn the beautiful Mind+Body connection of Yoga.

Meet Linda!

After 15 years in telecommunications, Linda transferred her skills into the health industry. Now she currently enjoys a 17 year career as a massage therapist. In 2014 she published an inspirational book entitled “Jesus is Here, Come Join the Feast.”

Linda has a passion for teaching and has conducted nearly 700 classes or seminars on various subjects.

She and her second husband Mark, have posterity totaling 22 including all their children, bonus children, in-laws, and grandchildren. 

At the age of 50 she took up mountaineering, rock climbing, canyoneering, and ice waterfall climbing. At age 56 she learned backcountry skiing so that she could climb California’s Mount Shasta to ski down it. She’s summited the nation’s second most difficult mountain, the Grand Teton in Wyoming three times; plus Utah’s highest mountain, King’s Peak twice. Mount Rainier and Mount Olympus in Washington State are some favorites. She’s climbed Kingfisher Tower a 700 foot tall rock spire in the desert near Moab. 

She completed Lotoja, in 2005 by cycling throughout the night. In 2000 she biked a 700 mile tri-state tour. She has been on five Ragnar Relay teams. She creates and participates in “Don’tRushMe triathalons,” with friends.

Meet Millie!

Millie has been teaching group fitness for almost 20 years starting with a step class in a small Gold's Gym in Kona Hawaii in 2002. Since then she found a love for group exercise and enjoys the dynamic energy that comes from working out with friends.

Millie teaches a variety of formats including kickboxing, Tabata, HIIT, bar strength training (pump), dance fitness, core stability training and more! Millie is AFAA Group Fitness Certified.

Meet Abby!

Abby Lambson was born in Logan and recently moved back to the area with her husband and three kids. She grew up dancing and was on the high school cheer team.

Abby graduated from BYU Idaho with a major in Health Science. She is certified in High Fitness and loves strength classes.

Abby is passionate about helping others and believes group fitness has more than just physical benefits.

Aside from working out, Abby loves to garden, go on RZR rides, and spend time with her family.

Meet Brittany!

Brittany Lowe was born and raised in Logan. She has lived in Cache Valley most of her life. She currently lives in North Logan with her husband and four children.

She has a passion for dancing and running. She found the best of both worlds here at Sports Academy where she learned the joy and fun that comes with group fitness. She is a teacher at heart and loved being an Elementary School teacher for 8 yrs.

Now that her children are older she is ready to teach again in a new format. Her favorite being Spin where she found she was able to gain huge results and push her body in ways she has never done before.

She enjoys watching her children do what they love, traveling with her husband, being in the mountains, reading, yoga and anything that has peanut butter and chocolate. She is excited to find the best music to help motivate and dance to!

Meet Jennifer!

Jennifer has been teaching water classes for about 15 years in the community and is looking forward to being part of the team at Sports Academy.

She is a wife and a mother of 3 amazing adults and grandmother of two beautiful kiddos! She is a musician, and about to ready to release a Christmas album. She loves to use music for inspiration and motivation in her water aerobics routines! She also does design interiors, and loves doing anything creative.

Jennifer has been on a long health and fitness journey, losing over 100 pounds and works hard to maintain the loss. Exercise is now a passion and yoga, water aerobics and dance based exercise fills her up She believes keeping our bodies active benefits us not only physically, but lifts our hearts and minds to greater heights

Meet Brooke!

This is Brooke Correa formally known as Brooke Nyman! I just got married this last June! I am for now a Zumba Instructor but will hopefully get into other formats ! A little bit about me.. I have been dancing since I was 3, I fell in love with it and knew I had to keep it in my life. Zumba has given me that same happiness and I want to hopefully give everyone who comes to my class that same feeling of happiness and confidence while working out!

Meet Tracy!

Tracy Owens is a Cache Valley native and lives in Nibley with her husband Gordon, their daughter (the youngest of their six kids) and their two dogs.  She is excited to be part of the Sports Academy family.

Her love of fitness began in 2007 with a spin class at a local gym.  From there, a passion for fitness and nutrition was sparked.  When Tracy and Gordon moved to Phoenix, an instructor at their local gym didn’t show up to teach a spin class, so both she and Gordon became certified in 2014 to teach spin just to be a backup for the gym.  Tracy has been teaching ever since!  She is certified by both Schwinn and Spinning, as well as certified to teach Tabata Bootcamp.  She is passionate about creating exciting and energetic workouts and also helping others be motivated to reach their own fitness goals.

In her spare time, Tracy loves to camp, snowmobile, bike ride, and just be with her family and friends.

Meet Brylee!

Brylee is so excited to be back teaching after a year of rehabilitating a ACL surgery.  She is currently finishing her Bachelors degree at USU where she will graduate in December.  Her plans are to apply for PA school and hopefully get accepted.  She currently teaches High Fitness at SARC and loves it.  Brylee is marrying the love of her life Matthew in July and can’t wait!

Meet Leila!

Leila is a doctoral student at Utah State University and is originally from Vermont. She moved to Utah 2 years ago and immediately fell in love with the mountains and all the outdoorsy activities available here! Leila discovered group fitness in college and has attended multiple classes a day since! She loves the loud music, community, and motivation that comes from attending the same classes every week. She started teaching spin in 2017 when she lived in Boston and finds a lot of joy in making new playlists for every class. Her favorite part is integrating all different genres into each playlist to keep things interesting. When she isn't working out, she's hiking with her dog, Rusty or skiing at one of the amazing resorts in this area! She is certified in spin and is going to work on other certifications over the summer. Leila can't wait to see you in class!
